Thrifty Thursday- on a Friday!

When decorating Fiona's nursery, I wanted a place to display and hold all her books.  The way her room is set up, (where the closet, windows and doors are) there really isn't much wall space left for a bookshelf.  I found these great picture/book ledges ledges at IKEA, but they only came in two sizes.  We were really limited to the wall space on either side of the windows, so we needed to make some custom ledges very similar to the IKEA ones.  I am by no means good at woodworking and by that time, my pregnant self just wanted to sit back and relax.   Scott on the other hand is pretty mean when it comes to building things.  We followed this tutorial, and in an afternoon we were done! The total project probably came out to about $15, which you just can't beat! Below are the finished shelves in Fiona's room!
