With Easter just a week and a half away, I've been trying to get the house ready by adding little touches of Spring here and there. I don't know about y'all, but this Southern girl is ready for some warm weather and sunshine! When looking for inspiration for Fiona's first birthday party, I found a tutorial to grow wheat grass. I thought it would bring the perfect touch of spring to her party. What I didn't know at the time, was that it probably is the easiest and fastest plant you will ever grow! In fact it is so easy, I decided to grow another batch of it for Easter.

Below are some instructions for how to grow it:
What you will need:
Red Wheat Berries (I bought mine at the grain counter at Whole Foods)
Soil
Waterproof container
Water
I soaked my berries in water overnight. In the morning, they are noticeably bigger and full of water. |
I filled my container with soil, and planted the berries. The above picture shows them before I covered them with soil. |
I week of growth!!! |
Like I said before, this stuff grows so fast! The only downside of it, is the grass only lasts about 2 weeks. We did trim the grass before Fiona's party, but around the 2 week mark, it started looking a little rough. Hey, then you can just cut it and juice it!! Have fun with it by adding whatever you want. Below is how I dressed it up for Fiona's party.
Happy Planting!!
